The role of the Beaufort Investment & Asset Allocation Committee (IAAC) is to ensure that each of our portfolios continues to deliver on their expected returns, in-line with the level of risk assigned to each.
The IAAC has the core belief of promoting a high level of corporate governance which supports the long-term interests of our investors. The committee has the necessary skills, expertise, experience and resources to be worthy stewards of our clients’ capital.

Chief Executive, Beaufort Investment
Derrick has extensive experience of the financial services sector. Most recently he was Chief Executive of Sanlam FOUR which he founded in 2006. Derrick began his career at Russell Investments in 1990, moving to Stamford Associates in 1994 and then Mercer in 1998. He subsequently went on to build Attica MM from 2000 which was acquired by American Express, before founding FOUR Capital Partners which was later acquired by Sanlam. Derrick has been a member or Chair of Investment Committees since 2000.

Shane has been in the industry for over 25 years and has been a key part of running the portfolios since their inception in 2004. He considers his role to be a mixture of probability management and information gathering; understanding the individual funds and the people who manage them. He is a Chartered Member of the Securities Institute, a member of the CFA UK Society and holds the Investment Management Certificate.

Emma has worked in financial services for 13 years and joined Beaufort Investment Management in August 2016. Prior to this Emma held senior research roles at Mazars Financial Planning and Wellian Investment Solutions. She is a Chartered Member of the Securities Institute, a member of the CFA UK Society and holds the Investment Management Certificate.

With nearly forty years in the industry, Stephen was previously Institutional Marketing Director at Liontrust following an earlier ten-year position as Head of the Global Equity Team at Gartmore. Previous appointments included Capel-Cure Myers and James Capel Fund Managers (now HSBC Asset Management).
Head of Risk & Compliance, Beaufort Group
With a background in financial services, Steven manages the compliance function of the Beaufort Group, overseeing the business risk mitigation procedures across the Group’s companies. As a highly-qualified specialist, Steven seeks to ensure that all clients are fairly treated and receive the very highest quality of advice. Steven also looks after relationships with key stakeholders such as the regulator, PI insurers, regulatory lawyers and professional bodies.
